The other joke and meme thread
Funny stuff…loooong funny stuff… A certain generation will recall this ( possibly the original broadcast)
Highbrow lit and music meet lowbrow comedy….Incredibly clever and well done.
Phil Silvers doing what he does best… Sgt. Bilko ( The Phil Silvers Show )

Back story here: Gilligan's Island and Shakespeare

Hamlet's soliloquy (Bizet's Carmen Habanera aria), Hamlet and Ophelia (Offenbach, Tales of Hoffman), Polonius and Laertes (Bizet.. Carmen: March of the Toreadors), full cast chorus.
The best part...the choral piece with the entire cast. You got to love Mr Howell (inimitable Jim Backus) and "Lovey" in this scene
Read the YT comments. They will make you smile, even laugh.

Almost 60 years later people have yet to forget this...won't happen... 2015 ... 2020 ... 2020 ... Nov 2023

I suspect that another thing thinner than a hair was this "scientist's" research budget. I first was allowed to use a thing called "microscope" back in 9th grade, the 1969-70 (junior high) school year. Must have been missing in the inventory of that particular Harvard laboratory ... 😟

My patience can't even be seen under a microscope!
