Use this thread for jokes and memes that do NOT relate to Tolkien.

Keep things appropriate or we'll have to sick Grond on you ;)

Basically every road has construction in my area, and I feel this.
You live in the metro Phoenix area, by chance?

Some guy actually posted a letter about this (I'm doing it from memory) in the AZ Republic [online] newspaper.
(Note Phoenix streets are on grid, with all major streets 1 mile apart in a N-S, E-W orientation )

My congratulations to the city planners of Phoenix.
You have managed to execute simultaneous construction projects on all major N-S and E-W Roads, thereby leaving drivers with no alternate routes to avoid slow-downs and backups.

So tell us again, how much did you pay for that mail-order Civil Engineering Degree...?

No, I'm in Michigan.

Woooow! It's not quite that bad here, but there are multiple parallel roads with construction. When I was driving home the other night, the exit I needed to take onto the freeway to go home was closed. So I took back roads. And on some of the roads I was considering using to take home, they were closed.

Actually not ALL the roads were under construction. But of the ones that were (and it was at least a dozen) they were the most heavily utilized during normal working hours.
The writer was pretty frustrated, and [obviously] venting.
