The other joke and meme thread

'Zactly, that's why I enjoy roasting Ohio State or yelling GO BLUE sometimes despite not being a football fan!

I guess I'm just surprised you know about it, because you're from Arizona right? I sure don't know about other state's team rivalries!

But yeah, a lot of us Michiganders love to roast Ohio in general.

Well, I guess I can forgive that.....I guess....🙄
I'm aware of some of the rivalries, certainly the ones out this way in the west, but other more well known ones.
And yours with Ohio State is one of those well known ones.

Anyway, go HERE to read about our rivalry. You can skip lightly through the History, but read the section about the naming of the rivalry game.
Especially read the section on the Territorial Cup (the "trophy"), its history, and how it was lost and then found.
It is "the oldest rivalry game trophy in college football." 🙂
In case you are wondering I went to ASU (BA History 1996...Go Sun Devils! 🙂)

"Sparky" the Sun Devil .... original artist used Walt Disney as the model for the face.

Wilbur Wildcat

We call "the other team" the Arizona Mildcats and they call us the ASU Scum Devils.
But we won the 2024 matchup 49-7 on their turf ...like they didn't even show up 😈

Well, those of us from U of M also hate Michigan State, in all fairness. (And they hate us!)

I visited Michigan State once for a conference and I felt like I was in enemy territory! The Spartan was always watching me!

Did-- did they have something against Disney??

Go HERE for the story.
The artist said the resemblance was unintentional but I think his subconscious played a part. (This will make sense once you read the article)

Isn't the rivalry with Ohio State more intense than the one with MSU? I always thought it was.
