The Riddle Thread

Posting again just as a reminder:

Sweet flower in balm renewed,
Wandering across lands far and wide,
Rejoicing in the joining of twain,
Amidst surreal mystery and secrecy.

Upon many long years thereafter,
Joy became mingled with sorrow,
In melancholy two fled astray and distant,
And left behind merely silence and ruin.

Thou art correct!

Sweet flower in balm renewed, (Melian served Vána and Estë)
Wandering across lands far and wide, (She came from Valinor, went to Doriath)
Rejoicing in the joining of twain,
(She married Elu Thingol)
Amidst surreal mystery and secrecy.
(The realm of Doriath was enchanted so that few could pass through)

Upon many long years thereafter,
(During the years of the First Age)
Joy became mingled with sorrow,
(The Quest for the Silmaril, courtesy of Beren and Lúthien)
In melancholy two fled astray and distant,
(Melian went back to Valinor alive though in grief; Thingol was slain and fled to the Halls of Mandos)
And left behind merely silence and ruin.
(The realm of Doriath eventually became destroyed and abandoned)

I'll try and think of one, though I doubt it will be as good as yours.
