The Stoors

Somewere in UT it says that the Nazgul killed off the Stoors that lived by the banks of the Anduin or some other river prior to the events of LoTR. I didn't think hobbits lived anywere outside of the Shire and Bree.

They used to live east of the Misty Mountains, but they migrated to the Shire in the Year 0 of Shire Reckoning.

Yeah but it says in UT that the which king killed them off completely. Its the place were gollum used to live.

I wonder why the Stoors were important enough or unlucky enough to feel the Nazgul's wrath.

The Stoors lived for a time on the banks of Anduin the Great. They were driven out by their fear of Dol Guldur. But the Witch King did not slay them all.

The quote cities is from one of the Variations of the Passage containing information about The moments of Nazgul, Gandalf.
The passage is one of the drafts and we should remember that the passage is not the finalized version of tale, as is the case with most of the Variations in UT. Possibly this is from an early draft written by J.R.R.T before he conceieved the whole Ghollum saga. Possibly there were some stoor's living in the lower vale's of Anduin at the time of the War of the Rings? i believe this subject needs more researching and someone should write an essay on it.

The Witch King ad somehow discovered that the One Ring had being lost near Gladden Fields.
Therfore he lead a huge search party to find it. Unfortunately for the Stoors, they were in the way, so the nasty ol' Witch King decided to kill them all.
