The Tolkien Joke and Meme thread

Yes...I found the LOTR books slightly boring because I willingly abandoned them to read The Silmarillion instead. And since then, I've never gone back to the LOTR books...

I appreciate your honesty, but my friend, we both know how this ends:

Joke aside, I find very interesting how you find Silmarillion more appealing then LOTR...
Not that I not agree (Silmarillion is also my favorite book of all times (but then again, it's not really comparable to LOTR.. they are just.. different things).
I very much appreciate LOTR because of it's focus on events of only one year (or several decades in big picture), and it's done, really really well, really really awesome..
I wish we have 3 books for focused event's of several decades in Valinor, and 3 books for Numenor, and for Beleriand, and for very creation of Arda... how that will be awesome man? :)

Anyway, because I fell in love immediately, after first pages for both LOTR, and Silmarilon... I wonder.. If something prevented me of reading LOTR, and I read only Sil, and I get back to LOTR, would I get similar feel as you?

Indeed, indeed....although the flames do very much appeal to me - more than they should, I think...
They all say that..
After we "purify" them with flames, I don't think they find flames very appealing..
I hear all the time "I'll read.. I'll read LO....".. something like that they say... What is LO?... I am not really sure what is that all about, but I guess, it's some form of redemption, and that means, we are doing a good job.
