Much like other "adaptations" getting released since the pandemic and maybe even before, I find them with unoriginal and often dull writing.
The plot isn't consistent and all of it is just too much and at the same, nothing special.
I especially hate the
Sauron x
Galadriel relationship. I think it is destroying one of my favorite canon
ships and one of my favorite plots (enemies to lovers) at the same time.
It also diminishes
Celebrimbor's friendship with Sauron in his disguise and the the depth of his betrayal and demise. Basically, it
ruins three amazing characters in their own rights with little to no reason or any satisfying contribution to
Tolkien's great work.
People call it fanfiction, and I think it's an insult to them. There are amazing writers out there who write fanfictions (namely some of our own Youth Group here) and their stories get you hooked for days.
I also didn't like most of the fashion choices or character designs. Especially the hair.
And this is all beside the casting choices for some of the
Noldor.
All in all, I don't really think I can say I hate it. I guess I don't really care about it at this point, and won't be wasting my time on watching it.
Some enjoyed it, and I respect their opinion.
