Where were the Beornings and were they fighting 🧌Orcs as well?

Hi everyone,

Until I get a job and start making money I can't afford to get the rest of the LOTR. (Just when I finished FOTR!!!)

Anyway, I remember during the chapter "Many Meetings" Gloin mentions the Beornings.

My question is what were they doing during the whole of the Trilogy and where they fighting wars against Sauron of their own? I seem to remember Thranduil's kingdom coming under siege.

I think their own lands were under siege by Orcs during the WOTR (War of the Ring) just as Mirkwood was (Thranduil) and the Lonely Mountain.

Good answer, Erestor. I thought as much, I was just wondering it was confirmed. If Sauron couldn't do in The Hobbit, try, try again!
