As for radagasts powers it was stated "he was a master of Shapes and hues"

Sort of suggests that he could shape shift and had almost chameleon powers. Also his link with nature "as Saruman states "Radagast the Brown, Radagast the Bird tamer, Radagast the Simpleton, Radagast the fool"
He seems to suggest that Radagast (like Gandalf does later stating "His friendship with animals) could communicate with animals especially birds.

As for his disappearence dunno what to say. I know that soon after the Council of Elrond ended they "Sent out searchers" to find out about the Nazgul and down to the "Secret woods" with news. They also went to Rhosgoebel (which was on the southern border of Mirkwook far to the East of Dul Guldur) and couldnt find him.

The last we know of Radagast was that he fled as "if the Nine were right behind him" after he left Gandalf. I got feeling that like the Blue Wizards Radagast got left behind to "Start a strange cult" most likely the Druids of old England who had an affinity with nature. In the books it never says what becomes of him but I feel that is a possibility.

Not so.

In a very late note on the names of the Istari Radagast is said to be a name deriving from the Men of the Vales of Anduin, "not now clearly interpretable." Rhosgobel, called "the old home of Radagast" in The Fellowship of the Ring II 3, is said to have been "in the forest between the Carrock and the Old Forest Road."
The map of Wilderland in The Hobbit is the best graph of those parts.
