Curufin

Curufin was a prince of Noldor. He was the fifth son of Nerdanel & Feanor and was his father’s favorite. He resembled him a lot in terms of skills, appearance, and temperament. His own son was the jewel Smith of Eregion. Celebrimbor, who was able to forge the three powerful Elvish rings.

Biography

Celegorm and Curufin.Celegorm and Curufin.
Born in Tirion during the years of the trees, he was named after his father. His uncles and brothers also had names that they had inherited from their fathers and ended with Finwe. Which is why instead of being called good Curufinwe he was just known as Curvo. His son was an offspring who was born when he was in Valinor. Feanor had tasked all of his sons to recover his Silmarils, stolen by Morgoth. One of the brothers had taken the old age and recovered their father's prized possession. Because of this, they launched a lot of words against the ends of the armies of the dark lord and ultimately Doom upon themselves. He lifts along with his brother Celegrom in Himlad. This valley was located on the way to the kingdom of Doriath, Which they had protected until it was taken over by Dagor Bragollach. When David attacked both the brothers who were defeated and they had to leave Nargothrond, They ran to protect their men, to look for shelter in Finrod, wherein a cousin of theirs was able to help them out. When Finrod helped out the Brothers, little did he know that he was going to lose his kingdom and very soon his life too. Shortly after this, Beren came to Nargothrond, to remind Finrod that he owed his ancestor a favor.

Finrod realized that there was no way in which he could avoid this so he decided to help him out. He persuaded his men to convince the people not to follow Beren and also convinced the brothers not to open war against the dark lord, making them a little more fearful of him so that they could avoid losing men in battles. They made him leave his own kingdom and Finrod had to give up his Empire except for a few warriors and left the palace.

He was someone slaughtered to death and his nephew Orodreth ascended the throne. Finrod was humiliated and he had to accept it only because his ancestor had given the word which he needed to follow. To keep his word Finrod had to give up the most precious possession that was his kingdom and also beginning because he no longer had enough protection from his enemies. When Curufin and Celegorm went hunting a few days later they found Lúthien, King Thingol’s daughter searching for her husband. She was tired and destroyed from the journey and they quickly understood that.

On the pretense of helping her day with them and took her captive in Nargothrond. Celegorm was attracted to her and by keeping her captive he wanted to ensure that he could ask the king for her hand in marriage. They held onto her until Huan helped her Escape. Beren too was rescued and when the kingdom of Nargothrond came to know about the two brothers' cunningness, even though the king would not punish them to death, they were barred from ever entering the kingdom of Nargothrond.

The people did not accept the belittling of Their Kingdoms Name by capturing a woman using the force of two Men. As Lúthien and Beren were trying to escape, they were encountered by the two brothers. Even though they fought valiantly they were defeated by the couple and even as Celegrom tried to kill Luthien, she could not get to her and killed Beren instead. King Thingol and Orodreth Decided not to join the battle that was trying to unite the elves, dwarves, and men who launched the attack against the dark lord in the group that was known as the Union of all of Maedhros. Because of them, even the kingdoms did not support launching an attack against the Dark Lord Morgoth. They were ridiculed and even though they were just on the route to ensure that they were following in the footsteps and by the words of their father, to retrieve the Simaril, where we were not construed as productive or positive by everyone who heard their stories. They believed they could have been a better way for the brothers to avenge what was rightfully their fathers and taken into possession.

Death

Curufin was killed when Sons of Fëanor [1] launched an attack on Doriath, during the second Kingslaying, to seize Silmaril. The Simaril at that time was a part of the beautiful king Dior. Celegorm and Caranthir were killed during the battle and they were not successful in retrieving the Silmaril.

Etymology

Curufin was given the same name as his father Curufinwë [2] because he was his favorite. The name given to him as his Mother-name was Atarinke, which meant Little father, and he was named so because of the resemblance to his father. Although he did not prefer to use his Mother-name it was among all of his brothers but he chose not to do so.
