Yes...I found the LOTR books slightly boring because I willingly abandoned them to read The Silmarillion instead. And since then, I've never gone back to the LOTR books...

Now that really makes me want to swear an oath to never return to the LOTR books... any Fëanorians here? Please unite...

(but hey, on second thought I probably won't, just in case one day I change my mind - quite unlikely - oh, and we all know how oaths turned out in the Silmarillion....definitely not the best consequences...)
