The Riddle Thread

A short one for my first attempt.
Drinker of blood.
Bringer of woes.
Exalted in strife.
Defender of family.
Protector of homes.
Slayer of dragons.

Alas, I berate myself for not trusting my own word swift enough.
I think you might've ignored the Valar's advice there 👀
But worry not! I'll try and make it up to you, the subject matter should be something you like, can't promise anyone will like the poem though 😅
The following should be accurate, but if anything doesn't make sense lemme know.

It is a long tale
One with birdsong
Loving the trees and forests

Leading to

A chance meeting in silence
A great kingdom and a fair maiden
A last journey westwards

Nay, one of the lines does refer to Luthien.
Pretty close though.
What my mind can think of now is the Lay of Leithian (but then that's basically Beren and Lúthien)...or the meeting of Melian and Thingol (but then, that was the answer to my last riddle).

Considering that those two answers above would be wrong, I give a third guess, that it could even be Aredhel and Eol...
Worry not, father time is still with you.
I am glad that he is, and I believe that he ever shall be. My first riddle was silent evidence of that. :)

The answer's actually solely Melian.
I don't wanna say no to to your answer because no-one would guess it afterwards and you're factually correct anyway.

I forgot about your riddle 😭
I tried to do a Maia and Melian seemed easiest, that's my bad yo 😭

It is a long tale (Said by Aragorn)
One with birdsong (Associated with songbirds, liking it and teaching it)
Loving the trees and forests

Leading to

A chance meeting in silence (Meeting with Elwe, unable to speak or move)
A great kingdom and a fair maiden (Eglador & Luthien)
A last journey westwards (Returning to Valinor to mourn her husband and daughter)

Can't believe I did a worse version of your poem by accident, forgive me Amaniel.

I forgot about your riddle 😭
Already? How unfortunate....

Ah, beautiful!

Fear not! All is forgiven! :) Should I do another now?

Hol up, my careless choice of words have betrayed me once again.
I meant to say I had forgotten about the answer to the riddle.
Your riddle would fit right in Tolkien's work.

If you'd be so kind as to please us with one I'd love it.

Thank you, and fear not! An honour to hear such words from you!

If you'd be so kind as to please us with one I'd love it.

Shining from above,
In years long past,
Dancing through the skies
To weave radiance anew.

Greatest of all,
Gazing from afar,
Though lesser than some,
And yet ne'er forgotten.
