Depends on the speed you're driving at. Some parts (not nearly all!) of the German Autobahn have no speed limit. Some people (a lot, actually) don't leave enough space between their car and the car in front of them.
The rule is: The 3 second gap (Google it if necessary)
Yes it does.Depends on the speed you're driving at...
That particular bar, at that particular height, was mandated for large trucks (in the U.S. anyway) after the death of Jayne Mansfield. She had driven her car into the back of a semi and, as there was nothing to keep the car from continuing to move under the truck bed, she was decapitated when the windshield (and she) hit said truck bed. Nasty.
Mostly true....not quite decapitation (Wiki it). That particular bar, at that particular height, was mandated for large trucks (in the U.S. anyway) after the death of Jayne Mansfield. You're apparently an incurable optimist. 😬
Yes... my former roommates always thought me a most exceedingly cheerful, riotously fun person. You're apparently an incurable optimist. 😬
Right. It's a starting point. I.e., it is used to calculate recommended following distance in the US for speeds up to 40 mph.
At higher speeds the recommendation is to add 1 second for every additional 10 mph.
*tsk* .... that is soooooo old..... I heard that in high school .... 🙄 (😉)
I'm wondering if there are people who would actually believe that ... 🤔
