Fanfic Fellowship of the Ring What if...? The Hobbit

I have two of these but the outline for the first (based on The Hobbit) is presented here. There are, indeed, some moving around of dates towards the end but I was unsure how else to take the story for my RPG campaign. Please provide Feedback on the Discussion page as I would very much like it.

  • 2 January: The Fellowship leave the High Pass.
  • 3 January: The Fellowship reach the foothills of the Misty Mountains and lodge in a Beorning Inn.
  • 4 January: The Fellowship restock and leave the Beorning Inn at dusk.
  • 6 January: The Fellowship reach Carrock then begin following the Anduin south.
  • 8 January: Glorfindel, Merry, & Pippin camp with Halbarad & Rangers of the North at Amon Sûl. The Rangers give the Hobbits more swordsmanship lessons.
  • 11-12 January: Blizzard on Caradhras.
  • 13 January: Aragorn’s company are attacked by Wolves in the early hours. The company reaches the West-gate of Moria at nightfall.
  • 14 January: Aragorn’s company spend the night in Hall Twenty-one.
  • 15 January: Gandalf battles the Balrog and falls into shadow. Aragorn leads Boromir out of Moria. They enter Lothlórien.
  • 16 January: The Fellowship reach the Stoorish Hobbitholes of Gladden Fields. Rómestámo decides to rehabilitate Gollum.
  • 17 January: Aragorn & Boromir come to Caras Galadhon in the evening and are greeted by Galadriel and Celeborn.
  • 18 January: Gollum begins to build a boat to travel down the Anduin.
  • 19 January: Glorfindel, Merry, & Pippin arrive in Bucklebury where the Shirrifs intend to arrest them but are intimidated by Glorfindel. Glorfindel chooses to stay and guide the Hobbits in their quest to reclaim the Shire.
  • 21 January: The Hobbits arrive at the Three Farthing Stone and rouse the Shire-folk.
  • 22 January: Battle of Bywater. The ruffians hired by Lotho Sackville-Baggins are slain or driven away.
  • 23 January: Gandalf pursues the Balrog to the peak of Zirakzigil. Merry rides to Michel Delving and releases the prisoners from the Lockholes. Glorfindel returns to Rivendell.
  • 24 January: Gollum completes his boat. He grudgingly admits his murder of Déagol.
  • 25 January: Gandalf casts down the Balrog, and passes away. His body lies on the peak. Rómestámo senses Gandalf’s passing. The Breaking of the Fellowship. Uruks from Dol Guldur attack the Fellowship. Tauriel dies defending Frodo, Sam, & Gollum, allowing them to escape down river. Rómestámo, Grimbeorn, Bard II, Thorin III & (Mark’s character) decide to travel to Erebor.
  • 1 February: The Hobbits arrive on the borders of Lothlorien and are greeted by Haldir and the marchwardens. Frodo & Sam are invited to rest in the woods for a fortnight and resupply, but Gollum must stay. Frodo insists that Gollum be admitted. The Elves refuse to allow Gollum into Caras Galadhon but he is admitted into the Golden Woods under Frodo’s stewardship.
  • 2 February: The Hobbits meet Aragorn & Boromir and learn of Gandalf’s death. Gollum is left in Aragorn’s care while Frodo & Sam greet the Lord & Lady.
  • 8 February: The Fellowship arrive at Carrock and camp. In bear-form, Grimbeorn ascends the Carrock to view the full moon at night.
  • 14 February: The Fellowship arrive at Rhosgobel at dusk.
  • 15 February: Frodo & Sam look into the Mirror of Galadriel. Frodo offers her the One Ring, but she rejects it. Gandalf returns to life, and lies in a trance.
  • 16 February: Farewell to Lothlórien. Galadriel gives gifts and lembas to the Hobbits. Frodo insists that Aragorn & Boromir not accompany them. Aragorn & Boromir decide to leave the following day.
  • 17 February: Resurrected Gandalf is borne to Lórien by Gwaihir, who was sent by Galadriel. Gandalf is received in Caras Galadhon and clothed in white. Galadriel gives prophetic messages to Aragorn & Boromir. Aragorn’s company is reunited and set forth to Rohan. Radagast agrees to lead the Fellowship through Mirkwood; the Fellowship depart.
  • 23 February: Aragorn’s company arrive at the edge of Fangorn. Gandalf takes his leave to speak with Treebeard saying he will meet them outside of Edoras. The Hobbit’s size and stealth allow them to escape notice of a Ringwraith.
  • 24 February: Gandalf speaks with Treebeard.
  • 25 February: The Hobbits pass the Argonath. The Hobbits camp on the eastern bank of Nen Hithoel. First Battle of the Fords of Isen; Théodred son of Théoden slain.
  • 26 February: The Hobbits see Uruk-Hai on the Western shore before entering Emyn Muil. Éomer hears of the descent of the Orc-band from Emyn Muil.
  • 27 February: Éomer against Théoden's orders sets out from Eastfold about midnight to pursue the Orcs.
  • 28 February: Éomer overtakes the Orcs just outside Fangorn Forest.
  • 29 February: The Rohirrim attack at sunrise and destroy the Orcs. Aragorn & Boromir arrive and take part in the battle. Éomer warns against going to Edoras but Aragorn states that Gandalf has told them to meet him there. Éomer finds hope in Gandalf’s words but must continue on. Frodo descends from Emyn Muil.
  • 30 February: Entmoot begins.
  • 1 March: Frodo begins the passage of the Dead Marshes at dawn. Entmoot continues. Aragorn & Boromir are reunited with Gandalf and set out for Meduseld. Faramir leaves Minas Tirith on an errand to Ithilien. Aragorn turns 88.
  • 2 March: Frodo comes to the end of the Dead Marshes. Gandalf comes to Edoras and heals Théoden. The Rohirrim ride west against Saruman. Second Battle of the Fords of Isen. Erkenbrand defeated. Entmoot ends in afternoon. The Ents march on Isengard and reach it at night.
  • 3 March: The Rohirrim retreat to Helm's Deep and the Battle of the Hornburg begins. Ents complete the destruction of Isengard.
  • 4 March: Aragorn rides out at dawn with King Théoden. The Huorns of Fangorn and Gandalf arrive and the battle is won. Aragorn, Gandalf, Boromir, & the Rohirrim set out from the Hornburg for Isengard. Frodo reaches the slag-mounds on the edge of the Desolation of the Morannon.
  • 5 March: Théoden reaches Isengard at noon. Parley with Saruman in Orthanc. Aragorn takes possession of the palantir of Orthanc. The Hobbits reach the Black Gate and realize it's impassable. Frodo agrees to follow Gollum to a secret way into Mordor. Boromir looks into the Palantír. Winged Nazgûl passes over the camp at Dol Baran. Gandalf sets out with Boromir for Minas Tirith.
  • 6 March: At dawn Gandalf and Boromir reach Edoras. Aragorn overtaken by the Grey Company in the early hours. Aragorn uses the Orthanc-stone to reveal himself and Andúril to Sauron. Théoden sets out from the Hornburg for Harrowdale. Aragorn sets out later. The Fellowship arrive at the Halls of the Elven-king.
  • 7 March: Frodo taken by Faramir to Henneth Annûn. The Grey Company arrives at Dunharrow at nightfall. Aragorn takes leave of Éowyn. Gandalf and Boromir, riding through Anórien, see the Warning beacons of Gondor lit.
  • 8 March: The Grey Company takes the Paths of the Dead. At midnight, Aragorn summons the Oathbreakers at the Stone of Erech. Frodo asks Faramir to spare Gollum's life at the Forbidden Pool. The Hobbits part company with Faramir in the morning.
  • 9 March: Gandalf reaches Minas Tirith. Faramir leaves Henneth Annûn. Aragorn sets out from Erech and comes to Calembel. The Hobbits reach the Morgul-road at dusk. Théoden comes to Dunharrow. The Red Arrow is presented by Hirgon to Théoden. Darkness begins to flow out of Mordor.
  • 10 March: The Dawnless Day. The Muster of Rohan: the Rohirrim ride from Harrowdale. Faramir rescued by Gandalf and Imrahil outside the gates of the City. Aragorn, leading the Dead Men and the Grey Company, crosses the river Ringló. An army from the Morannon takes Cair Andros and passes into Anórien. The Hobbits reach the Cross-roads and continue to the Morgul Vale. Frodo sees the Witch-king leading an army from Minas Morgul and resists putting on the Ring.
  • 11 March: Denethor sends Faramir to Osgiliath but keeps Boromir with himself, despite Boromir’s protests. Aragorn reaches Linhir and crosses into Lebennin. Eastern Rohan is invaded from the north. First assault on Lothlórien.
  • 12 March: Aragorn drives the enemy towards Pelargir. Gollum leads Frodo and Sam into Shelob's Lair. Faramir retreats to the Causeway Forts. Théoden camps under Min-Rimmon. The Ents defeat the invaders of Rohan.
  • 13 March: The Grey Company reaches Pelargir with the army of the Dead and they capture the Corsairs' fleet. Frodo is wounded by Shelob and is taken prisoner by Orcs to the Tower of Cirith Ungol. The Pelennor is over-run. Faramir is wounded. Théoden in Drúadan Forest. Battle under the Trees in Mirkwood; Thranduil repels the forces of Dol Guldur. The Fellowship leave the Halls of the Elven-king for Dale.
  • 14 March: Aragorn sails towards Minas Tirith. Sam & Gollum find Frodo in the Tower of Cirith Ungol. Minas Tirith is besieged. The Rohirrim led by the Woses come to the Grey Wood. Easterlings have passed the Carnen and pushed King Brand; Battle of Dale begins.
  • 15 March: Battle of the Pelennor Fields. In the early hours the Witch-king breaks the Gates of the City. Denethor burns himself on a pyre. The horns of the Rohirrim are heard at cockcrow. Théoden is slain. Aragorn sails north and arrives at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Éowyn is wounded while slaying the Witch-King. Aragorn raises the standard of Arwen. Aragorn heals Faramir & Éowyn. Frodo and Sam escape the tower of Cirith Ungol and begin their journey north along the Morgai. Second assault on Lothlórien. The Fellowship arrive in Lake-town.
  • 16 March: Last Debate of the commanders in Minas Tirith. The Captains of the West decide to march to the Black Gate. The Hobbits, from the Morgai, look out over the camp to Mount Doom. The Fellowship join the Battle of Dale. King Brand and King Dáin Ironfoot fall. Many Dwarves and Men take refuge in Erebor and are besieged.
  • 17 March: Battle of Dale ends. Bard II and Thorin III Stonehelm drive the enemy from Dale. Shagrat brings Frodo's cloak, mail-shirt, and sword to Barad-dûr, where Sauron slays him.
  • 18 March: Aragorn leads the army of the West out of Minas Tirith. The Hobbits come in sight of the Isenmouthe; they are over-taken by Orcs on the road from Durthang to Udûn. Thorin III & Bard II lead their armies down to assault Dol Guldur.
  • 19 March: The Host comes to the Morgul Vale. The Hobbits escape from the Orcs and continue.
  • March 21: A force of Orcs and Easterlings attempt to ambush lead companies of the Host.
  • 22 March: The Hobbits leave the road and turn south toward Mount Doom. Third assault on Lothlórien.
  • 23 March: The Host passes out of Ithilien. Aragorn sends those too frightened to proceed to retake Cair Andros. The Hobbits cast away their gear.
  • 24 March: The Hobbits reach the foot of Mount Doom. The Host of the West camps in the Desolation of the Morannon. The Fellowship & an army from Erebor & Dale arrive at Dol Guldur. Celeborn crosses the Anduin and the destruction of Dol Guldur begins. Galadriel throws down the walls of Dol Guldur.
  • 25 March: The Host is surrounded on the slag-hills of Dagorlad. Aragorn commands the army of the West in the Battle of the Morannon. Frodo reaches the Cracks of Doom and claims the Ring for himself. Gollum bites off Frodo's finger and falls into the fiery chasm. The Ring is destroyed and Sauron is defeated.
  • 27 March: Meeting of Celeborn and Thranduil. Mirkwood is renamed Eryn Lasgalen and is divided up; Thranduil takes everything north of the Mountains and Celeborn takes everything south of the Narrows. The middle portion is left to the Woodmen and Beornings.
  • 28 March:
  • 6 April: Crowing of Thorin III & Bard II king of Erebor & Dale, respectively.
  • 8 April: The Ring-bearers are honored by Aragorn and the Host of the West at the Field of Cormallen.
  • 1 May: The Fellowship arrive in Minas Tirith and reunite with Frodo & Sam. Frodo carries the crown at Aragorn's coronation. Aragorn is crowned King. Elrond and Arwen set out from Rivendell.
  • 8 May: Éomer and Éowyn depart for Rohan with Elrohir and Elladan.
  • 20 May: Elrond and Arwen come to Lothlórien.
  • 27 May: The escort of Arwen leaves Lothlórien.
  • 14 June: The sons of Elrond meet the escort and bring Arwen to Edoras.
  • 16 June: The escort of Arwen sets out for Gondor.
  • 25 June: Aragorn finds the sapling of the White Tree.
  • Midsummer's Eve: Arwen arrives in Minas Tirith. Aragorn receives the Sceptre of Annúminas signifying the Kingship of Arnor from Elrond.
  • Midsummer's Day: Wedding of Aragorn and Arwen.
  • 1 July: Glorfindel informs Gandalf & Rómestámo about Saruman’s attempted corruption of the Shire.
  • 15 July: Arwen tells Frodo that he may pass into the West in her stead.
  • 18 July: Éomer returns to Minas Tirith.
  • 22 July: The funeral escort of King Théoden sets out from Minas Tirith.
  • 7 August: The escort comes to Edoras.
  • 10 August: Funeral of Théoden.
  • 14 August: The company take leave of King Éomer.
  • 15 August: Treebeard releases Saruman from Orthanc.
  • 18 August: The company come to Helm's Deep.
  • 22 August: The company come to Isengard. Aragorn bids farewell to the other members of the Fellowship.
  • 28 August: The company overtake Saruman; Saruman is taken into Rómestámo’s custody.
  • 6 September: The company halt in the sight of the Mountains of Moria.
  • 13 September: Celeborn and Galadriel depart, the others set out for Rivendell.
  • 22 September: The hundred and twenty-ninth birthday of Bilbo. Saruman comes to the Shire.
  • 5 October: Gandalf, Frodo, & Sam, leave Rivendell.
  • 6 October: They cross the Ford of Bruinen; Frodo feels pain in his shoulder on the anniversary of his confrontation with the Witch-king.
  • 28 October: They reach Bree at nightfall.
  • 30 October: They leave Bree. The company come to the Brandywine Bridge at dark. Gandalf leaves to visit Tom Bombadil. Rómestámo leaves with Saruman for the Grey Havens.
  • 1 November: Frodo & Sam return to Crickhollow. Merry informs them of his & Pippin’s own adventures in the Shire and that Frodo is free to return to Bag End as it is now uninhabited.
