I'm a tax preparer now, don't worry. 😊
And I only wanted to kill customers when they beckoned me like a servant rather than using their words to ask for help, or when they came in to make a big expensive purchase of delicate
items 5 minutes before closing, or when they griped at me because the cleaning chemicals stank (
while I was in the middle of cleaning, mind you. Like do you want a clean store or not? Especially because this was in 2020, in the middle of covid). I never liked it when they haggled with the price and got belligerent about it either. There was also this one guy who said something super condescending and belittling to me when I was new on the job. I don't remember exactly what he said, but I didn't understand what he wanted me to do and then he made me feel like an idiot.
So, yeah. Just be a decent human being and I promise I won't kinslay you. 🙂 Thankfully, those days are long over, and now at my job I get to quietly work on tax returns while listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and not have to interact with annoying customers.
In an effort to keep this related to jokes and memes, here is a meme showing how working at the antique store made me feel:

Oh, and adding to my rage: I was making minimum wage. And I didn't get paid for any time I was at the store before or after store hours.
