The Tolkien Joke and Meme thread

Picking up the tangent "Rock 'n' Classic", Deep Purple's 1969 album "Concerto for Group and Orchestra", with the Mark II lineup, composed by Organist Jon Lord with lyrics by vocalist Ian Gillian, must be one of the earliest collaborations of the sort. Partner was the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Malcolm Arnold, venue the Royal Albert Hall. Both Jon Lord and guitarist Ritchie Blackmore had received classical training on their instruments.

I wanted to post a link, but there being several confused me. Type in " deep purple royal philharmonic orchestra 1969 full concert " in the YouTube search bar and you'll get a list of versions. My 1970 vinyl has 59:26 as total playing time.
