Deimos is allowed to give The Old Ones a hard time because ...(wait for it).... Deimos has seen at least as many Christmases as "Old Squinty" has --probably quite a few more--- and nearly the same number that Oldorgando has.Hey D, be nice to the older ones! I like them 😊 Also, they keep posting things on here that I can read when I get bored at work...

I am also south of S2, but only by a fractionEhwot? 🫡
Have you noticed that when you pass your teenage years, the next decades (almost) alliterate?
T-T, F-F, S-S; well, I'm still "south" of S2 by a couple of years (and small change). And having seen more Christmases than Squinty but fewer than I have ...
No, I meant "grittier" and more realistic than the sort of Erol Flynn-style swashbucklerthing romances I initially imagined them to be. The author clearly immersed himself in the realities of life in the age of sail.If by 'adult' we mean 'conspicuously oriented toward lusty pleasures and physical excesses of multiple kinds',
Oh… this is a good thing..! I am intrigued. No, I meant "grittier" and more realistic than the sort of Erol Flynn-style swashbucklerthing romances
The Old Ones!? That doesn't sound good. Which one of you lives at R'lyeh?Deimos is allowed to give The Old Ones a hard time because ...(wait for it).... Deimos has seen at least as many Christmases as "Old Squinty" has --probably quite a few more--- and nearly the same number that Oldorgando has.
Moi does not live in R'lyeh. R'lyeh is a slum for wraiths and wights.
I read that book quite a while back, but it was pretty awesome I remember.I recently started playing WoW, I really liked the setting of the game, etc. So I decided to start researching the lore of the game, and here's what I came across. there's "War of the Ancients" written by Richard A. Keane. This book tells about the ancient history of Azeroth, during the First War against the Ancient Gods.
The book describes how Azeroth was born, how the Ancient Gods appeared, and how they sought to take over the world. The book also tells the story of the heroes who fought against the Ancient Gods, including Auria and Maligos.
I've already read about 70% of the book and I want to say that I really like it!!! If you are interested in a similar experience, I advise you to read
On a related note, Kindle owners with an interest in writing by other members of the Lovecraft Circle may want to jump on this:
In looking, it appears this has become a Quintet now.... there are 5 books in the series, and I'm confused by a 'shadow' series associated somehow....I really should read the whole trilogy.
Wow. I just looked at the Ender's Game Wikipedia article, and I see there's a lot more there than I expected: 20 titles...Ender Series, Shadow Series, Formic Series, and novellas. In looking, it appears this has become a Quintet now.... there are 5 books in the series, and I'm confused by a 'shadow' series associated somehow....
In any event, i've heard of this 'Ender's Game'... and Orson Scot Card of course... but he's another I've never dappled with. Ender's Game seems to have won a couople prizes in 1985 and 1986... and I think it was made into a movie? I assume he writes well enough... i'm going to go read a 'sample' or two.
I suppose I better add this to my books as well. This thread is endlessly hard on my budget.
Good to know.and thought it was a decent adaptation of the book.
good to know. he's got a number of them made into movies... some of the movies I've seen, some not.I thought the film adaptation of Eaters of the Dead followed the book fairly closely.
