What 📔book are you reading right now?

Re-reading Carl F Hostetter's 2021 book "The Nature of Middle-earth" ... not really much lees confusing trying to follow JRRT's meandering thoughts on M-e as presented here. I'm sure none of this would have made it into a Silmarillion that JRRT would have published himself. He was piling up up background stuff (in his own words, niggling) and not getting one nanometer closer to finishing the revised Silmarillion for publication.

Crumble them on ice cream?
Well, yes, you can do that.
It is not, however, the *ahem* preferred alternative method.
You are, perhaps, not entirely to blame for your poor instruction in "Augmented Oreo consumption".
No doubt it was your parents who shirked their duty in this aspect of your upbringing.
(This would sadden even Miss Manners. 🙁)

Good guess. 😄

Back in the 70s I used to drink sodas by a brand named something like "Truli Fyne". 😅

As a frequent enjoyer of both, for what it's worth, they taste the exact same my guy.
No, no, no....*vehemently shaking head* ....Your taste buds need calibrating

Well if we live in different continents we might be talking about different knockoffs to begin with, and even if we are talking about the same ones they might taste different (cause of the regulations).

And to go back to the topic I started reading The Scarlet Pimpernel today, finished the first chapter and I'm enjoying it more than I thought it would.
I didn't think I would like reading about this period of time (despite having done so before) but it has managed to set the tone quite well.
Once again my thanks go out to Deimos.

It;'s been a while since I've read it.... now that you've mentioned it, I think I'll re-read it this summer.
For a "first time read" I'm waiting for the library to locate me a copy of Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad.
I've heard about it for decades ... always I'd think "I have to read that". So (once it shows up) I will do just that. 🙂
