But I think you mentioned that already.
But that's OK...and more than OK.. There can never be too many Austen-ites. 😁

I think it's time for a re-read of Emma....been 'way too long since I last read it, five years at least.I came across one of my copies of Sense and Sensibility the other day; put it on my "to reread" stack.
yes, these are the two titles I've heard spoken the most frequently, though I've never heard what they're about.I'd recommend starting with S&S or P&P.
How very interesting. And how 'appropriate' in certain circles at certain times in history, for certain reasons.Notably, I don't think she ever used the word "love" in the context of male-female relations, preferring "affection".
Her stories have been called "Comedies of Manners". (Do not think of "comedy" in the 20th-21st C meaning.)yes, these are the two titles I've heard spoken the most frequently, though I've never heard what they're about.
so is she primarily somewhat a 'romance' style writer? Or how would you classify her works.
HAHAHA... I was already typing my 2 cents worth before I saw your post. 😄I'm sure Deimos can add anything I've missed. 😄
Fair enough. I remember not getting too much out of his work when I read it in high school (other than take nature not for granted and enjoy simplicity). I myself wouldn't read it again either if only for the fact he uses too many words to state a point, and I just didn't find his writing intriguing enough.I will not re-read Walden.
A splendid choice! You truly can't go wrong there. ☺️I am, currently, rereading The Lord of the Rings
My favorite scoundrel -- beating out even Eddie Haskell! 😄Rereading "Flashman" by George MacDonald Fraser
