I just started the Silmarillion

Well, you finished The King of Elf-land's Daughter, so I think that trumps me finishing TDT 😁I started that one years ago, but couldn't make it past the first few pages. You're clearly a hardier reader than I am, Gunga Din. 😄
Yeah, I'm a little trepidatious about starting that one 😨 Though I did manage to finish Crime and Punishment...Well, I've read Ulysses (twice!), so I don't consider Dunsany that much of a lift. 😄
I'm about to work my way through Dune as well, I'm just taking some time to finish my other book(s) first.Frank Herbert’s “Dune".
Ulysses. Twice. Amazing. Really.Well, I've read Ulysses (twice!), so I don't consider Dunsany that much of a lift. 😄
Don't watch the movie. Ever.I just finished Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, and, I was very impressed. I'd read some of his other works before, and, while I did enjoy them, I hadn't found them particularly interesting, except for Killer, Come Back to Me, a collection of his crime stories, and that was more because of the subject matter than the quality of the writing. This book, however, was incredible. It started out a bit slow, but after a certain point, I was completely hooked. In fact, I couldn't stop reading and finished it all on the same day.
Why don't you all flagellate yourselves even more by reading Finnegan's Wake....🙄It wasn't meant as a boast -- after all it gets a public reading every Bloomsday! 😃
I have read most of those. I haven't done The Halloween Tree or Usher II, but the others were good. The Veldt I read for school two years ago, and I've been reading the rest more recently, as my brother got several of his books from the library, and I decided I'd read them, too. I liked The Exiles, but I haven't read many of the authors in it. I probably would have liked it better if I had.Try his more fantastical short stories, such as The Exiles, Usher II, The Veldt, Marionettes, Inc., The Halloween Tree (novella)**
Also Fahrenheit 451 (not "fantastical", just dystopian)
Which one?Don't watch the movie. Ever.
