What 📔book are you reading right now?

Jeb Smith's Defending Dixie's Land.
PR Jennings revision of The Dangerous Truth - now titled Tolkien and the Dangerous Truth
PR Jennings W. B. Yeats and the Secret Masters of the World.
CR Wiley: In The House Of Tom Bombadil

I just finished Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, and, I was very impressed. I'd read some of his other works before, and, while I did enjoy them, I hadn't found them particularly interesting, except for Killer, Come Back to Me, a collection of his crime stories, and that was more because of the subject matter than the quality of the writing. This book, however, was incredible. It started out a bit slow, but after a certain point, I was completely hooked. In fact, I couldn't stop reading and finished it all on the same day.

Liberty: The God That Failed - a rather dense book of particular interest to me at the present time.

Also our own @Bosko Took, P.R. Jennings' revision to his book The Dangerous Truth now titled Tolkien and The Dangerous Truth. A good book I had the blessing of reading the first version of, and providing a few thoughts and comments about.

He's also authored W. B. Yeats and the Secret Masters of the World. He's a 3rd book in the series planned at present.

Don't watch the movie. Ever.

Try his more fantastical short stories, such as The Exiles, Usher II, The Veldt, Marionettes, Inc., The Halloween Tree (novella)**
Also Fahrenheit 451 (not "fantastical", just dystopian)

** I have to admit the first time I read The Halloween Tree, I thought it was ...OK.
But I reread it years later (at least 15 years had passed, while it sat on my bookshelf, gathering dust) and I found I liked it quite a lot.
"Time changes us."

One of the most hilarious books I've ever read. 😄

As a matter of fact, I've always thought it would make a great drinking game: read aloud until you laugh -- or trip up -- at which point, take a drink.

Of Jameson's, of course! 😁

I have read most of those. I haven't done The Halloween Tree or Usher II, but the others were good. The Veldt I read for school two years ago, and I've been reading the rest more recently, as my brother got several of his books from the library, and I decided I'd read them, too. I liked The Exiles, but I haven't read many of the authors in it. I probably would have liked it better if I had.
